Crisis-hit Indonesia to get 20 bil. yen ODA loan

The Yomiuri Shimbun
The government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency will provide emergency assistance to developing countries hit by the financial crisis through the nation's official development assistance program.
JICA on Tuesday signed a contract with the Indonesian government to provide a yen loan of about 20 billion yen to Indonesia.
It is the first time the government has provided such emergency aid to developing nations hit by financial woes through ODA since 1997, when the currency crisis wracked Asia.
